CompTroller(tm) - Automated Composting Control and Monitoring System

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The ECS CompTroller System is an automated compost control, monitoring and data management
system designed specifically for compost facilities. The system features: optimized compost control, easy operation and high reliability. It can be configured for existing or new ASP, in-vessel, and agitated bed composting facilities.
The systems primary components are:
- CompTroller Operator PC Software
- CompTroller Control Nodes
- Process Sensors
- Variable Speed Blower Drives
SOFTWARE
The CompTroller Software allows the user to set all process control settings, view real-time data, and to store and recall process data through an easy to use Windows interface. The user-interface is designed to graphically represent the facility and provide intuitive organization of process conditions, alarms, and control features. In additions to monitoring
compost process data this software can control the Variable Speed Blower Drives, and monitor the biofilter and leachate tank conditions.
Process data, lab results, and operator comments are stored and can be exported into spreadsheets. The CompTroller PC software provides text and time/temperature graphical record of each batch. Realtime data can be shared with other facility computers over existing networks.
CONTROL NODES
CompTroller Control Nodes provide real-time control and monitoring of the vessels or zones. They
are connected to the PC via a LAN through which they receive their control settings and upload their process data. Each Control Node can provide control and monitoring for up to eight zones or vessels. They are environmentally hardened and have a fault tolerant architecture to prevent data loss. They simultaneously monitor and control compost temperature and temperature stratification, duct pressures, air volumes and temperatures, biofilter conditions, and other user specified functions.
BLOWER DRIVES
CompTroller systems normally control blower speed continuously to minimize power consumption and to provide optimal control. The variable frequency drives are controlled either by direct hardware connection to the Control Node or via LAN with the PC Software.
These drives include harmonic filters, enclosures and power disconnect to meet installation requirements.
PROCESS SENSORS
ECS provides a range of sensors with the CompTroller including compost media, aeration, and ambient temperature sensors, as well as aeration pressure and flow sensors. These sensor
assemblies are ruggedly constructed based on years of application experience. ECS offers both wireless and hardwired compost temperature sensors. Auxiliary sensors such as tank level, Oxygen or metrology, can also be integrated into the system.
