Register now for this year's Washington Organic Composting Council’s (WORC) Compost Facility Operator Training.
It will be held at the Washington State University Puyallup Research and Extension Center.
WORC's training program provides five days of classroom and hands-on work in the field of compost facility operations, using Washington State University's research station composting site and tools. Students get a broad range of experience with different technologies, designs and feedstocks.
Students gain in-depth understanding of the essential processes and procedures needed to be successful in operating or overseeing a compost facility. The course includes tours of several large scale compost facilities in the southwestern Washington including Silver Spring Organics, LRI and JBLM. Three guest panels of compost operators, end-users and regulator experts allow Q&A time to help integrate what you have learned.
There are only a few training opportunities like this in the country and we are fortunate to have one here in our state.
